Okotoks Dawgs Manager, Brett Thomas, hopes to see another solid performance from his team against the Mavericks Tuesday night.

The Okotoks Dawgs (9-9) close out what's turned into a two-game series Tuesday night against the Mavericks (9-8) in Medicine Hat.

The Dawgs took Monday night's game, a make-up from last Wednesday's rain-out, by a score of 5-3 to move back to .500 on the season, and to take a 2-1 lead in the season series.

Manager Brett Thomas says his team will have to be on their toes heading into Mavericks territory.

"We haven't been there in awhile," he says. "We were only there the first week of the (season), so, a lot of guys that are here (now) haven't played there, haven't done anything there. So, it'll be a little bit of a new experience for some of those guys, but that's a good team, so we need to bring our A-game every time we play them."

In Monday night's win, the Dawgs managed to register hits and score runs in the early stages of the game, something Thomas says is vital again Tuesday night.

"We've struggled early in games and have kind-of given the other teams momentum to keep shutting us down," he says. "So, it was nice that we were able to get some good barrels and were able to get runs early, and hopefully we build some momentum through the week doing that."

The Dawgs are just half a game back of the Mavericks for second place in the WMBL's Alberta Division, and can leap-frog them with a win Tuesday night.

First pitch is 7:05 at Athletic Park in Medicine Hat.

The Dawgs return home Thursday night for a tilt with the MelVille Millionaires.
