The rodeo, the chuckwagons and agriculture are some of my favourites at the Calgary Stampede.  But being a music lover, it's always pretty darn awesome how much country music you get to enjoy.  It opens up lots of opportunities for Canadian and local artists to perform for fans and make new fans.

Here's the peeps I have had the chance to catch up with so far at #Stampede2016

Jody Seeley and Tebey at Nashiville North

This Canadian artist had his very FIRST stampede experience this year.  We had the opportunity to catch up with him backstage.

There is also lots of local & Alberta artists who are getting the chance to play at the coveted Nashville North stage too!

Jody Seeley and The Dungarees from Edmonton at Nashville North

Hear my chat with these guys on Made in Alberta this weekend AND a sneak listen at the their upcoming new song!

Tanya Ryan from Okotoks and Jody Seeley at Nashville North

Always a pleasure to catch up with Okotok's Tanya Ryan.  This is her fourth year on the Nashville North Stage since winning her Nashville North Star title a few years ago.  She was also one of the judges for this year's competition. (Julia Vos from Edmonton won this title Monday night). Hear my chat with Tanya on Made in Alberta this weekend.

Jody Seeley and Trevor Panczak from Mcgrath at Sun Country

McGrath Alberta's Trevor Panczak came into visit today.  He is singing the national anthem at the rodeo Tuesday afternoon for the Calgary Stampede.  He shared with us how much he has learned from the Calgary Stampede since winning the youth talent show in 1999.  Hear our chat on Made in Alberta this weekend.
