The heats are heating up at the Calgary Stampede and it's not just the weather.

Chad Fike set a new track record last night with his sizzling time of 1:12.61.

Chad's brother Jordie, from the High River region, didn't fare as well with a 1:15:61 for 18th place on the night as he remains in 20th in the aggregate.

Other locals like Jason Glass rolled through into a 13th place finish last night leaving him in 8th overall but almost six seconds off the lead.  Okotoks' Mark Sutherland had a great heat last night placing 8th and moving him into 14th overall.

As far as the rest of the results Lyle MacGillivray still sits atop the leaderboard at Cowboys Rangeland Derby with Kurt Bensmiller right on his heels with less than a second separating them and Obrey Motowylo is right up there too.
