I'm kind of partial to Toastmasters having been a former member 20+ years ago but when Jocelyn Hastie, President of the High River chapter joined the Afternoon Drive Home show from 4:30-5:00pm it rekindled some fond memories.

We got to talking about not only public speaking but also listening.  I thought it was all about making speeches but it's much more.

Join them for an open house on Monday January 23 at the High River Library at 6:30pm.

They're also bringing in special guest speaker and cowboy poet, Shelley Goldbeck.

Really looking forward to it and getting to know Jocelyn was very engaging.  She is so positive and focused it's refreshing being around a leader like that and the other 22 members are looking for more of the same.

And talk about getting over your fear of public speaking, joining Toastmasters is a real confidence booster too. Empowering.

Hope to see you there.

Cheers! - Kevin
