It was a huge day Friday (Sept 9) for Calgarian Chris Surbey and his horse Arezzo as they took the ATCO Six Bar competition.

It was a bucklet list moment for Surbey in front of the packed hometown crowd in the International Ring at Spruce Meadows.

Surbey said" It is unbelievable.  It is bucket list material to win a class at the 'Masters'. It feels amazing."

Twelve started the event jumping a height of 1.60 metres and by round four it was down to two with Azerro and Surbey clearing 1.90 metres and bumping Great Britain's Robert Smith and Ilton into second spot.

The Masters continues Saturday with the Suncor Winning Round 1.50m and then one of the major highlights is the BMO Nations' Cup.

Team Canada members include Eric Lamaze, Amy Millar, Tifanny Foster and Kara Chad.
