The Canadian Livestock Identification Agency is concerned with the latest United States move on B-S-E.

As the U-S-D-A awaits a final report on the latest Alberta case it has suspended work on restoring the trade with Canada on over-30-month cattle.

The new President of the Canadian Livestock Identification Agency, Dennis Mckerracher, says it's a difficult situation.

"Well that's a concern to all species groups. And of course the beef industry has really been hit what what I consider political intervention as opposed to science based intervention."

Mckerrracher, a High River area hog producer is the Canadian Pork Council Representative on the agency's executive.
