Turner Valley Town Council is getting bogged down in budget talks this fall.

Mayor Barry Crane says they got part way through some of their talks at their last meeting, but had to call it a night after a few hours.

He says they need to have an all day budget meeting to hash through their expenses.

"So, we're going to have a full day meeting on (Friday) November 27th to do a full budget review of all the business cases the Town presently operates. Council will be able to do a deep dive with all the managing bodies and the managers. But, we'll look at each individual case and follow through on that."

Budget documents presented to council show significant operational deficits for the next two years.

As well the Town will have to come up with ways to pay for their own policing costs, as mandated by the Province and float the cost of the amalgamation process with Black Diamond.

Amalgamation is expected to happen in 2023.
