The Polar Patrol was kept very busy this weekend, checking out all the amazing holiday events happening across the Foothills!

Friday evening, Polar Patrol was off to Okotoks to check out Light Up Okotoks. This event was HUGE, happening all down Elizabeth Street to the Downtown Plaza, not to mention all the other activities happening at local businesses along the way! It was a chilly night, but all the free hot chocolate and fire pits lining the streets warmed you up in no time. There was so much to see and do, including a Christmas Market in the Elks Hall, photos with Santa for you and your pets at the Elizabeth Street Pet Hospital, and even a pony petting zoo. The lighting of the community Christmas tree happened at 7:00, and the night was capped off with a fantastic fireworks display. It was a great night for the whole family.

Saturday was the Kinette's Annual Christmas Craft Fair at the Claresholm Community Center. This was a massive market in it's 27th year, and featured 84 tables of work, products and services from local artists and businesses. Admission to this event was a donation to the Claresholm Food Bank, and there was always a steady stream of people making their way in to check the market out! Lots of local help went towards making the event such a success - the Claresholm 4H Club was helping with taking the food bank admissions, as well as volunteering in the concession, and the participants of this years Claresholm Prom volunteered their time for set up and take down of the event.

Sunday afternoon, the Polar Patrol was out checking out the 2015 Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market. This weekend marked weekend 2 of the three weekend event. There are many different buildings and areas to check out including Candy Cane Lane and an Outdoor Courtyard. You can even visit Santa's reindeer in Reindeer Alley, and for $40, get a family photo taken with one! There are over 250 vendors, making it the perfect place to do your Christmas shopping. If you haven't been, make sure you check out the Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market next weekend, as it will be the final weekend of this fantastic event!
