Highwood MLA Wayne Anderson, like most of us, agrees Strathmore-Brooks MLA Derek Fildebrandt renting his tax subsidized apartment in Edmonton on Airbnb probably wasn't the smartest thing to do.

Anderson agrees, while Fildebrandt wasn't "technically" breaking the rules, it just looks bad.

"Quite honestly the optics are extremely negative on this one. I mean, typically being an ex-CTF (Canadian Taxpayers Federation) guy, you'd think he'd know better. That being said he wasn't really technically breaking any rules, but the reality is profiting from taxpayers dollars is absolutely wrong."

Fildebrandt, has since apologized and paid back the $2,200 he made, along with stepping down as the UCP's Finance Critic.
