The people have spoken and now Alberta has a new United Conservative Government under Jason Kenney.

The UCP managed to win over Calgary and had overwhelming support in rural Alberta, but couldn't take Edmonton from the NDP.

Here in Livingstone-Macleod UCP Candidate Roger Reid has won with an overwhelming majority and will take his place as our new MLA.

The Highwood Riding has voted in UCP Candidate R.J. Sigurdson.

In the Cardston-Siksika riding UCP candidate Joseph Schow has won.

Finally, in the Chestermere-Strathmore riding, Leela Aheer with the United Conservatives will also take a seat in Legislature.

The Banff-Kananaskis riding in which Millarville and Priddis sit, is torn between NDP and UCP with a very close race that will likely be decided when advance polls are counted for the riding.

Provincially, Rachel Notley won her riding in Edmonton Strathcona, and Alberta Party Leader, Stephen Mandel was defeated in his riding of Edmonton-McClung to Lorne Dach of the NDP. Alberta Liberal Leader David Khan also lost in his riding of Calgary-Mountainview.

There will be just two parties in the Legislature when MLA's get to work in Edmonton, as the Alberta Party and the Alberta Liberal party didn't win any seats.
