Alberta's Agriculture Minister sees merit in the biofuel industry.

Doug Horner says farmers remain in a cash income crunch from this spring and it's a situation the province is trying to address.

Horner says biofuel is a good opportunity for farmers

"It's almost a craze now but the biofuel issue is very important for us", he says, "we're working very hard to help our industry use technology and commercialize it in that area".

Horner says as well the province is following up with the 900 million dollars for farmers announced by Ottawa and working to see the money gets out to producers as soon as possible.
