On Sunday July 3rd I enjoyed a nice stroll downtown High River.

(The Crowd Watches On As Mel Wilson And His Band Perform At the Bandstand In George Lane Park.)

This Summer there is plenty going on throughout the downtown on Sunday afternoons.

I started my walk in George Lane Park where I was witness to talented musicians sharing their love of Bluegrass with the crowd.

The crowd was quite large and consisted of all ages and plenty of families.

Bandstand Sundays will be taking place each Sunday till the end of August and is sponsored by the Highwood Lions Club.

So, if you’re in the area on a Sunday be sure to stop by George Lane Park and take in the music.

Following the bandstand, I headed over to the Handmade Market on 1st Street.

There, there was plenty of stands located in front of local shops showing off their handmade goods.

Some of the goods for sale included photos of High River from a local photographer, handmade soaps, breads, and soups.

My favorite stand was one which was selling dolls that had their makeup taken off and were repainted to look more like little girls that would play with them.

Altogether, a stroll Downtown High River on a Sunday is worth the trip!
