The 4-H program in the province will get a financial boost from an upcoming horse sale.

Ryan Smith and Champion auctions have donated a colt to be sold at the Western Working Cowhorse sale in Claresholm at the end of the month.

Smith says one hundred per cent of the proceeds go the Alberta 4-H Legacy Fund.

"I was 4-H member for a long time and a big supporter of the program and now a present leader", he says, "It gave me some skills and knowledge and most importantly some lifetime friends and I feel I can give something back to the program".

The sorrel colt is by AQHA black foundation bred stallion Pepsi Max.

The sale goes at the Claresholm Agriplex on July 29th.
