The tornado that hit the Didsbury and Carstairs area has left the area in shambles.
According to Didsbury RCMP 14 houses were damaged including 5 houses that were completely destroyed.
One woman was trapped in her basement as her home above was destroyed.
She was rescued by the Carstairs Fire department. She received only minor injuries and no other people have been reported as injured.
However, there was a loss of livestock.
A horse had to be put down and 25 cows were lost along with 20 chickens.
The Didsbury Fire department also assisted alongside the RCMP.
