Thursday night the Culture Centre in High River was filled with women from the Foothills with big hearts. 100 Women Who Care Foothills gather together four times a year to network, learn about charities in our region and pool our donations together to give larger sums to help out.

The concept is pretty cool.  It really plays off the saying "we're stronger together," since a $4000+ donation can make a huge difference for a non-profit as opposed to just my $100.

Plus you get to meet other women in our local communities who have the same heart for others as you do.

Thursday night we heard from Krista Rowland-Collins from Adele's Over the Rainbow Baskets who received $4400 in November.  She showed us where the money goes and how it helps new families with babies with Down Syndrome.

Seven nominations for other charities were put in Thursday night, three women got the opportunity to present to the group and the vote went to Foothills Snaps.

The exact amount that will be donated directly to the charity is not known yet but it should be over the $4000 mark.

The next meeting for 100 Women Who Care Foothills will be on Thursday May 4, 2017.
