Alistair MacGregor will be returning as the Agriculture Critic for the Federal New Democrats.

MacGregor, representing the Cowichan-Malahat-Langford riding in B.C., is also taking on Rural Economic Development as part of the portfolio.

MacGregor took to Twitter on Thursday, November 28 after NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh unveiled the critic roles, saying he's looking forward to working hard for Canadian farmers.

In the post, MacGregor says he's also serving as the Deputy Justice Critic.

Conservative Leader, Andrew Scheer, announced some of his top leadership posts Thursday morning, but has yet to name his Agriculture and Agri-Food Shadow Minister.

Parliament will resume Thursday, December 5.
