United Conservative Party Leader Jason Kenney is heading to India Sunday, September 16th  for a six day trade mission.

He'll be joined by the UCP Energy Critic, Prasad Panda, and Trade Critic, Devin Dreeshen, to meet with senior Indian government and business leaders.

Kenney says he'll raise concerns about tariffs limiting Alberta pea and lentil producers market access to India.

"India is the worlds largest democracy and one of the worlds fastest growing economies. I championed closer ties between Canada and India during my two decades in the federal Parliament and I hope to put that experience and connections to work for Alberta should voters elect a Conservative government next year."

The trip includes stops in New Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar, and Jamnagar.

In a statement the UCP say expenses for the delegation will be paid for personally and by the party.
