G3 has announced plans for two new grain elevators in the prairies, with one in Swift Current and the other in Vermilion.

The Vermilion elevator will be serviced by CN Rail and have a capacity of 34,000 tonnes.

The company says both new elevators we be built with the same high-efficiency features as their other new facilities in Western Canada, including a loop track which can quickly load a 150-car unit train, and the ability to unload a Super-B truck in less than five minutes.

G3 says construction will begin early next year, and they're both projected to be complete in 2021.

In a statement, G3 CEO, Don Chapman, says the company has been steadily growing to serve some of the most productive grain growing regions in Western Canada.

"We're happy to add Vermilion and Swift Current to our network and give farmers there a fast and efficient option for moving their grain to market."

The company also has elevators under construction in Wetaskiwin, Morinville, Carmangay, Irricana and Stettler County, as well as a new grain export terminal in North Vancouver, set to be open next year.
