While attending the Federal Liberal's caucus retreat on Wednesday in Saskatoon, the Federal Transport Minister, Marc Garneau, and Federal Agriculture Minister, Lawrence MacAulay, will also take time to hold roundtable discussions with stakeholders in the grain industry.

Macaulay says, grain transportation has been a big issue for farmers.

"We're working continually to make sure we improve, not only to be able to sell what we had last year, but to be able to sell what we're going to produce in two or three years time. This is an ongoing issue, we must address it. On time delivery is so vitally important in the agricultural sector. Simply, if you do not provide it when your customer wants it, somebody else will."

He says, this means farmers, the railroad and Government will have to work together to address grain transportation issues.

The roundtable discussions will take place Wednesday evening at 6:15 pm in Saskatoon.
