It was a jam packed agenda at the Catalyst Financial Operations Agriculture Conference, Monday, February 4.

The one day event at Heritage Pointe Golf Club in DeWinton, featured speakers on grain and cattle market outlooks, the new Occupational Health and Safety policies, and opportunities in the hemp sector.

Catalyst President, Candice McKay, says it was their fourth Agriculture Conference.

"The purpose of this event is to bring all of our clients together, get them up to date on anything that's happening in the industry, bring in speakers that are going to add value to their organizations, and just get the group together and have a good day."

McKay was also a speaker at the conference and presented on to how make your accounting data more reliable and current by using a series of apps which simultaneously work together.

McKay says even though other areas of the sector use advanced technology such as drones, GPS, and remote sensing, there seems to be some hesitation among farmers to move to cloud-based accounting.

She adds, these tools save a lot of time and give a good reading on the current situation of your farm business, which includes easy to interpret visuals like graphs and charts.
