2018 Canadian Agricultural Partnership Programs Announced for Alberta

The new Canadian Agricultural Partnership will contribute $90 million into Alberta's ag sector this year.

The money will be available through Partnership programs focused on public trust, products, market growth, and diversification.

Alberta Agriculture and Forestry Minister, Oneil Carlier, made the announcement at the Calgary Stampede Friday, July 13.

Carlier says, these programs will help companies expand their export capacity and enhance Alberta's reputation as a safe and high quality food supplier.

Agricultural Economist JP Gervais says, risk management, execution, and strategy are three key factors that producers should focus on going forward.

He says most Canadian farms continue to be in a very good financial position.
