Recognizing Contributions to Livestock Welfare

Alberta Farm Animal Care is looking for nominations for their Awards of Distinction.

Executive Director of AFAC, Annemarie Petersen, says they've been recognizing groups and individuals who have made contributions in farm animal welfare since 2001.

Petersen says, the three award categories are communication, industry leadership, and innovation.

Nominations are due by February 15th.

Canada's Agriculture Day is Coming Soon

It's been announced that Canada's Agriculture Day will take place again this year.

The event will be held February 13th.

Last year's Canada's Agriculture Day, the first-ever, inspired hundreds of events across the country.

A day-long, marquee event was also held in Ottawa, alongside industry and political leaders.

 

Canada's Largest Indoor Farm Show

Canada's largest indoor farm show is on in Brandon, Manitoba.

It's the 41st edition of Manitoba Ag Days, and the event started yesterday and wraps up Thursday.

The show is spread out over 540,000 square feet, and an estimated 50,000 visitors are expected to pass through the show this year.
