2017 Open Farm Days a Success

Last August, 101 farms across Alberta opened their doors to the public for the weekend, and allowed visitors to tour and learn where their food comes from.

The numbers are now in showing a 10 per cent growth in the number of farms that participated compared to 2016.

Also, the number of visits to these farms increased 13 per cent, to just over 20 thousand.

Alberta Ag Minister, Oneil Carlier, says the success of Open Farm Days is due in large part to the hard work of  Alberta's farmers and ranchers who produce world-class products that are a source of pride for the Province.

The fifth-annual edition of Open Farm Days broke records in 2017.
