Mentorship Opportunities in the Beef Industry
Applications are now open for the Cattlemen's Young Leaders Mentorship Program for the 2018 to 2019 year.
Youth Leadership Coordinator with the Canadian Cattlemen's Association, Emily Ritchie, says 16 young people will be awarded a spot in the program.
Ritchie says, they are looking for young people across Canada who are involved in the beef industry and passionate about a long career in the industry.

What Do Storm Chasers and Farmers Have in Common?
SaskCanola held their Annual General Meeting earlier this week in Saskatoon.
One of the keynote speakers at the event was the Tornado Hunter, Greg Johnson.
Johnson says, farmers and storm chasers are a lot alike; they depend on the weather and tend to be risk takers.
More of the Flax Council of Canada Closure
The Flax Council of Canada is closing its doors January 31st.
Eric Fridfinnson, Chair of the Manitoba Flax Growers Association, says it's a response to a cut in funding.
He says, three positions are being eliminated with the office closure.
"Over the next couple months, we're going to be consulting with all members of the Organization, and devising a strategy to move forward in a way that's efficient, and cost effective, and still can provide service to as many of our members as possible."
Fridfinnson says, they feel badly about the way this has unfolded.
