American Ag Company to Set Up Shop in High River
Farmers Business Network is expanding into Canada, and will base its Canadian operations out of High River.
The company is a farmer-to-farmer network, where producers can share data about agronomic practices, seed performance and price intelligence about seed and crop protection products.
In a release the company says, farmers can also purchase inputs directly online with transparent, "no-haggle" pricing.
General Manager for Farmers Business Network Canada, Tom Staples, says a big challenge for Canadian farmers has been the lack of transparent pricing for inputs.
The company says, more than 1.8 million acres of Canadian farms have joined the network from Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.
As part of the Canadian launch, they've hired more than ten new Canadian employees.
