CP Rail Strike Averted
Farmers can breathe a sign of relief for now.
A strike at CP Rail was set for last Saturday, but the Federal Labour Minster said the unions must wait to see the final two offers from CP Rail before they can vote to strike.
However, the two unions have already said they won't be approving the offers.

A Look at CN Rail's Grain Car Numbers
A continued update on CN Rail, last week ending April 21, they delivered 6, 383 grain cars across Western Canada.
This exceeds their weekly target of 5000 grain cars.

CGC to Reassign Five Moe Wheat Varieties
The Canadian Grain Commission has announced that effective August 1, 2021, five varieties of Canada Western Red Spring Wheat will be reassigned to the Canada Northern Hard Red wheat class.
They also announced previously that starting on August 1 of this year, 29 other varieties will also be making the switch.

Value of Alberta Farmland Increases
The value of Alberta farmland increased 7.3 per cent last year.
This according to Farm Credit Canada's 2017 Farmland Values Report released yesterday.
The report says, the increase for 2017 is down from a 9.5 per cent increase in 2016.
