"We want to convey what's going on at the Commission, you know, how we're using producer dollars, but part of that is, can we take those dollars and help to educate you to make you a more profitable producer."

Ammeter says, one of their speakers talked about dealing with canola diseases like blackleg and clubroot.

"Those are becoming really big challenges for canola producers. It's been around for a while, but it's getting to be a bigger challenge every year. The speakers gave more information for producers and more awareness as to how to live with clubroot."

About 100 people in the agriculture industry came out to the event.

The Lacombe workshop was one of 12 "Powering Your Profits" events which took place across the province.
